School surveyed on 2016 election results.

The recent election has been explosive and has shown how separated Americans’  beliefs are from one another. After a crazy election year with wild swings in the polls, the president-elect was determined to be Donald J. Trump.

After this very split election with  the popular vote going for Hillary Rodham Clinton, the school shared their thoughts. through a survey taken on November 14.

30 males and 47 females took the survey. Out of these people 12 of them were staff members, 21 were freshman, 15 were sophomores, 13 were Juniors, and 15 were were seniors along with  1 parent.

22 of the respondents  see themselves as  Republicans, 32 viewing themselves as Democrats and 21 said they are Independents  while  two  skipped the question.

After the election  14% of the people who took the survey are excited about Donald Trump being elected president, but 31% of the people are scared at a Trump presidency.

When asked who they supported in this election 35% were supporting Donald Trump, 48% gave their support to Hillary Clinton, 10% supported Gary Johnson, and 6% supported Jill Stein.

The most important reason for selecting their candidate for  the staff and students  were jobs and the economy with 25% of the survey saying this was the most important reason for choosing their candidate.  21% said it was for some other reasons such as LGBT policies and Immigration reform which were tied with 14% for deciding which candidate to support.

Just like the nation right now, the direction people think the country should be going in is unclear and people  have their own idea of where the country should be going.
