With a rough start to the season the girls have been struggling to finish games. The Pirates have fallen short in every conference game so far against Eastland, Le-Win, and Stockton.
Luckily the team had a second chance against Le-Win at the JV tournament and beat the team by 20 points. “I was very happy that we got a second chance at them so quickly, to show everyone what we are capable ” said Abby Soppe ‘21.
The Lady Pirates have been work extremely hard in practice. “We are a young team with the majority of the team being freshmen,” said Roni Skinner ‘20. “We come to practice every day and work hard are in all of the drills to make playing together more fluent.”
The team has been struggling with two of the starters leaving in the third quarter. Corrina Noble ‘21 and Gracie Wubben ‘20 leave before the fourth quarter to play varsity. This is a huge obstacle that the Lady Pirates have been trying to overcome. The team will continue to strive for greatness throughout the rest of the season.
“They play their hearts out on the court and that is all I can ask for,” said Junior Varsity Coach Justin Bauer. “The games haven’t been ending the way we have wanted them too, but I am very proud how hard these girls work”
