The JV volleyball team was satisfied with how they did this season. They ended their season with a record of 31 wins and 5 losses.

“The JV team is an incredibly talented group of girls,” JV coach, Taylor Ozee, said. “They have worked hard this season, as well as in the off-season, and it showed on the court.”

The team started the season with setting some goals. “One of our goals this year was to work more as a team,” captain Riley Wills ‘21 said. “We became closer as a team and pushed ourselves to be very successful this season, we are all proud of how we did.”

Throughout the season, they had lineup changes and many people playing positions they hadn’t played before. Those things can be very challenging, but they played their hardest and had a successful season. “Even though adjusting to a new lineup can make things difficult, I know that our coach changed it to make us the best team we could be and it really showed when we played,” says Kate Moran ‘21.

Olivia Hefel was the only freshman on the JV team for most of the season, until Maggie Furlong recovered from an ankle injury. It is a big jump for any player to go from playing 8th grade volleyball to a faster paced JV volleyball game. Olivia ‘22 said, “The sophomores really made it easy to adjust, they treated me just like I was one of them and were always encouraging me.”

The JV girls loved cheering the varsity team on in the state tournament and are excited to join the squad next year. They hope to become an even better team than they were this year and have another winning season.

The leader in aces was Abby Soppe with 79 this season. The leaders in kills was Corina Noble with 120. Noble also led the team in blocks at 54, and Olivia Hefel close behind her with 43. Abby Soppe had 300 assists, and Kellyn Romer had 164 assists. The leader in digs was Grace Wilhelm with 416.
