Pirates lose to warriors

The Pirates had a tough loss against the Warriors at East Dubuque on Thursday, November 29. The game ended with a final score of 33 to 59.

The Pirates trailed the Warriors 7 to 13 in the first quarter and that was as close as they’d get all night.

The top two scorers of the night were Ethan Hefel ‘22 with 8 points and Cody Allendorf ‘19 with 9. “Being a freshman is tough because varsity basketball is a lot different than eighth grade,” said Helfel. “The older guys have helped me settle in really well and they push me to get better.” This very talented freshman got pulled up to a starting varsity spot and has made a great contribution to the team so far this season.

“East Dubuque is a very high quality team,” says senior Evan Kruse. “They are alway going to be a tough team to compete with.” The boys thought they played very well against a talented team like the Warriors and are ready to work hard for the rest of the season as well. The next boy’s game is on Saturday December 8 at Fulton.
