Competitive game and a tough loss
On Friday, Feb. 1, the varsity boys basketball team played East Dubuque. The game was intense and ambitious. The final score was 34 to 42 with East Dubuque taking the win.
Senior Conner Einsweiler led the team with 14 points. Einsweiler had a total of seven- two pointers. Senior, Evan Kruse also helped the Pirates with his offensive game. Kruse had a total of seven points, one-three pointer, one-two pointer and two free throws. Trailing behind them was senior, Cody Allendorf. Allendorf made a total of six points, with three two pointers.
Senior, Tyler Moran said, “It was a tense game, we played good and hopefully we can have the win next time.” Moran scored a total of four points. He made two, 2 pointers.
The Galena Pirates played hard for the win, but fell short. The next varsity and junior varsity game will be at West Carroll on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The game will begin at 6:00 Come support the Pirates!
