Running for the win

The Galena/East Dubuque/River Ridge boys track team took home the win in a quadralanger meet against nearby schools on Thursday, April 4. The boys team ended the meet with a total of 182 points.

Damian Stephanopoulos 19’ got second place in long jump with 19’05 inches. He also got first place in the 200 meter dash with 24.56 seconds. “Getting first place in the 200 meter felt good, but I feel like I could’ve done better,” said Stephanopoulos.

Following Stephanopoulos, Dylan Schemehorn 19’ got second place in the 200 meter dash with 25.22 seconds and Keiran DuPlessis 20’ got third with 25.52 seconds. Schemehorn got second place in the triple jump with 34’02.00” inches. “I felt tired and cold. I am happy that our team is doing good in our meets,” said Schemehorn.

In the 400 meter relay Kerian DuPlessis got first place with his team that included Schemehorn and Stephanopoulos. Kerian also got first place in the 100 meter dash with 11.75 seconds. DuPlessis said, “I am happy I got first. My goal this year is to make it to state.”
