Freshman trapshooter Tyler Temperly is this week’s Pirate Competitor of the Week sponsored by Galena Culver’s and the Galena Gazette. Tyler placed 3rd in State in our conference of the Illinois State High School Clay Target League Fall season. He averaged 21.5/25 birds for the season, shooting a perfect 25/25 in the first week. According to coach Sarah Lee, “Tyler has been fun to watch this season and makes me excited, as just a freshman, for the many seasons to come. Although it was our first official season as a team combined with covid and quarantine hiccups, this did not slow Tyler’s momentum and determination to do well each week. Even if he may not have always noticed, he is a natural leader on the team.”  Tyler was honored with a gift basket from the Galena Culver’s, as well as a newspaper courtesy of the Galena Gazette.
