Senior football player Clay Folks helped lead the Pirates to a 28-6 season opening victory over EPC on Saturday night.  In addition to anchoring the offensive line and handling long-snapping duties on special teams, Clay recorded 7 tackles to help slow down the EPC running game.  Coach Ed Freed praised the effort, saying “Clay had a great game for us upfront on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he has really stepped up in the leadership role as a senior at the center position. He played a big part in helping our offensive line control the line of scrimmage and create some nice holes for our backs. Clay also excels as our special team snapper which is a very important role. On the defensive side Clay played a big role from the defensive tackle position.”
