Junior football player Jarrett Basten had another outstanding game at linebacker for the Pirates, recording a game high 23 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss in Saturday’s 14-6 win over Stockton.  Coach Ed Freed highlighted Jarrett’s playing, saying “our defense played outstanding, holding Stockton to only 6 points and made a huge goal line stand and Jarrett was a big part of that.  Jarrett is the type of player that is always going full speed and flying around making plays defensively. He has worked extremely hard in the weight room this long off-season to help prepare for this opportunity and it has really helped him improve as a player with his increase in his strength and speed.”
