Pirate Competitor of the Week (April 19, 2022):
Junior Paeton Hyde, and Sophomores Emma Blaum and Julia Holland are this week’s Pirate Competitors of the Week sponsored by Galena Culver’s and the Galena Gazette.  The trio brought home sectional titles from the IHSA Journalism tournament and qualified for the state finals on April 22 at Normal.  Emma took gold in Radio Broadcasting, while Julia and Paeton teamed up to win the Yearbook Theme Development division.  Their championship efforts helped the Pirates finish as IHSA Sectional Runner-ups.  Hyde, Blaum, and Holland were honored with a gift basket from the Galena Culver’s, as well as a newspaper courtesy of the Galena Gazette.
