Art class creates in a variety of media

The art classes have been busy finalizing their projects for the end of the semester. Students working in Studio Art can choose their medium so Erin Keeffer created a collage of paper and acrylic paints and that project was inspired by mixed media artist Kelly Rae Roberts. Students taking Digital Photography recently finalized a project where they used Photoshop to make numerous photos of themselves to produce one self portrait. Those same students tackled another project which entailed identifying a photographer that they admire and recreating their portfolio. Art 1 students created posters to explain the seven habits, and also use concepts of shape which are displayed in the cafeteria. Students in Design 1 are working on their final projects. “Mine’s a zentangle” said Nic Bingham while Bailey Bautsch is working on a design centered around half circles. The ceramics class created monsters, brought to life from drawings made by some eighth grade art students while other students had the chance of throwing on the wheel, creating cups and bowls. A number of these art creations have been displayed in the library.
