The newly inducted National Honor Society members hold their yellow roses and NHS pins after the induction ceremony. Students were inducted on March 14, in the GHS cafeteria. These high achieving students showed characteristics of leadership, service, good character, and academic success. “As a prior member, I am so excited to have so many new members get inducted and I am so proud of all of them,” said member Julia Townsend ‘23.

Academic Challenge Student Qualifies for State

Even with the food shortage, GHS is still offering the option for students to get a salad instead of or along with a hot lunch. Here, the cafeteria staff are preparing salads for students who signed up for them since there are limited food options available for the school. “We’re lucky that we’re having lunch at all,” said Anna Heller, “We don’t have much of a choice in what we get, but anything is better than nothing.”

Emma Blaum ‘24 and Chloe Roland ‘23 prepare to compete in their category, Radio Speaking. Members competing in this category only get 45 minutes to prepare which can prove difficult. “I was especially nervous for radio speaking since we only get a short amount of time to prepare for it,” stated Roland. GHS has a promising speech team this year and can’t wait to see what the ‘21-22 season has in store for them!
