When you look around GHS, you see a lot of smiling faces that love the school they go to. One of those smiling faces is the face of Elias Lemery, a senior at GHS this year. He is interested in golf, video games and hanging out with friends.
Eli has been interested in golf since he was eight. He used to go to the youth camps at the Galena Golf Course. Now this hobby that once interested him has taking over his high school career and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It feels great to shoot a good round,” said Lemery. Eli has been with the golf team all four years of high school, yet doesn’t plan on playing in college. He thinks it would be too competitive and he is more of a leisure golfer.
Another thing that Eli is very interested in is playing video games. Some of his favorite games are “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield.” He thinks that video games are relaxing and fun for all ages. “I‘m definitely not a gamer, but I do think playing video games from time to time is fun.”
Eli would consider himself a fun loving guy, so it is no surprise that he likes hanging out with his friends. One thing that he likes to do most is just go to Dubuque or go on adventures to talked-about places around town. Eli also likes to just hang out at a friend’s house and play ping pong or pool. “No matter what we’re doing, hanging out with friends is always fun.”
In conclusion, there is nothing too exciting about Eli, he is just your average jo. He likes golf, video games and just hanging out with friends. All in all, Eli is another smiling face that will greet you with open arms when you come to Old Galena High.
