The last hit
On Thursday, Apr. 4 the Galena High School Varsity Baseball Team went head-to-head against Warren/Stockton. The Pirates lost to the Warhawks by a score of 0-1.
Neither team scored all game until Warren/Stockton scored in the seventh inning. “We played really good defense which stopped them from getting any runs,” said Henry Anderson ‘20, “but we couldn’t hit so we weren’t able to get any runs either.”
Evan Kruse ‘19 pitched for the whole game and had 49 strikes with 63 pitches. Kruse said, “I pitched efficiently and got ground balls when we needed them. In the end we didn’t come out with a win but it was a well played game.”
The Pirates play again on Friday, Apr. 5 in Pecatonica varsity beginning at 4pm and JV to follow.
