Myles Schumacher Varsity Football
Myles had a big Friday night helping the Pirates pull out a big win against Stockton 27-24. Coach Freed said, “Myles really stepped up and had a great night against Stockton. He threw a 65 yard touchdown pass, caught a 30 yard touchdown pass, and had a 11 yard touchdown run to put us ahead with 2:00 minutes left to win the game. He also had 11 tackles on defense to round out a versatile night. Myles made some big improvements as a player this year and we are excited to see what he can do next year.”
Josh McNett Varsity Football
Coach Freed commented, “Josh played a big part in the comeback win against Stockton on Friday night. He had three big catches late in the 4th quarter that were pivotal in helping us score our last two touchdowns. He had a huge catch on 4th and 25 when he had a spectacular catch and then would not be denied the first down as he carried two defenders 8 yards to get the first down by 1 yard and keep the drive going. Josh has had some big catches this year and we are looking forward to having him return next year after another season of experience.”
Myles and Josh were honored with a gift basket from the Galena Culver’s, as well as a newspaper courtesy of the Galena Gazette.
