Galena High School students came back to school full of excitement for the 2024-2025 school year. The start of a new school year brings with it the possibility of new friendships, memories and adventures.
For the Class of 2025, this is a bittersweet milestone. Many students will be leaving Galena in a year, but they are determined to make this a year to remember. Claudia Liberg 25’ said “I am looking forward to doing all of the high school “lasts” like homecoming week and football games.”
Senior athlete Braden Kevern knows this is his last year to make his mark on the court and said, “Playing basketball and football for the last time is going to be really special.” While Kevern is on the court, the cheerleaders will be off the court encouraging them to do their best. Adison Leitzinger 25’ said, “I’m looking forward to cheering at football and basketball games one last time with my friends.”
Many students are ready to excel in the classroom this year. Logan Schultz ‘25 said, “I’m looking forward to doing my best this school year!”
The Class of 2025 isn’t the only class excited about a fresh start and a new school year. Freshman Avery Stroyan said, “I am looking forward to trying out new activities and finding new things I would be interested in.” Fellow freshman, Lucy Heller said, “I am excited for my new classes and being able to get to know people outside of my grade.”
No matter what class they are in, it is clear that students at Galena High School are ready for an amazing school year. Whether they are excited for Homecoming, new classes, or new friends, everyone is excited and can agree that this school year is going to be better than ever!
