Homecoming is just a couple of weeks away. Students at GHS have been planning long and hard trying to achieve the most points for their grade.
This year’s theme is board games. The Freshmen-Monopoly, Sophomore-Battleship, Junior-Clue, and Seniors-Candy land. Every grade has had class meetings to discuss skits, floats, and hallway decorating ideas. The dress up days for the week are Neon, Dress to Impress, Surfers vs Bikers, Class Colors, and School Spirit.
The Student Council puts lots of work into trying to make homecoming a fun week to remember. ”It’s very stressful to make sure that everything is done and everyone is included,” said Jalyn Walker, Class of ‘26 vice president. There will be games every day during homeroom where each grade competes for 1st place.
Skit night will be on Wednesday, the 18th. Each grade will perform their skirt in front of the judges, trying to win first place. The homecoming court and king and queen will also be announced. Don’t forget that the homecoming dance will be hosted at the GHS the 21st from 7-10 PM.
There is lots of excitement in the air waiting for homecoming week to arrive. ”I’m so excited to finally experience a high school homecoming because of all the fun I will have with my class.” said Bella Edmonds(27).
