Pirate Competitor of the Week – Andrew Richardson Boys Cross Country
On Saturday the boys cross country team competed in the Dale Donner Invite at Bureau Valley HS. There were 38 teams total, 21 with full scoring teams. Andrew finished 10th overall out of 177 in the Varsity race to help lead our team to a 3rd place finish. Coach Michael Eyres said, “Andrew is having a great sophomore season. He recently ran the fastest 3 mile time in our program’s history in 16:11 and has been in the top ten of almost every race this season. I’ve had many coaches comment on how surprised they are to see Andrew’s huge improvement but to myself and his teammates it is no surprise. We’ve seen him put in the miles and consistent hard work every single day for the past four months. He is the type of athlete you want to be a leader for your team as his dedication and enjoyment for the sport has worn off on his teammates and it is beginning to show in the results.”
