The Galena golf team held their senior night on August 17th to honor the seniors who went out for golf. Before the meet kicked off Pirate seniors were recognized. Senior posters were hung from the clubhouse to show off all 9 of the golf seniors.
Coach Freed announced all of the seniors and acknowledged them for a good season: “It was great seeing all the seniors getting the recognition they deserved. “Overall I think it was a great night for them!” said Mason Smith ‘26. Many family and friends showed up to support every senior.
After the meet finished both teams went to the clubhouse to celebrate their senior night. “Senior night was fun and I’m going to miss it,” said Ava Hahn ‘25. Many people were reminiscing about golf, retelling all of their favorite memories, and hanging out with the friends that they had along the way. “It was cool to experience my first senior night. I have only been golfing for a year and the seniors have been very supportive,” said Colton Richardson ‘26
The girl’s golf team took home the win on senior night. They had a spectacular win against Polo. On the other hand, the boy’s team sadly lost their senior night against Warren.
Overall senior night was a big success. Many current athletes are sad to see the seniors they have been golfing with for so long go but know that they will do amazing things in life. “Senior night went amazing and it was awesome to see the girls that I have been golfing with for 2 years finally get the appreciation for their hard work and dedication in this sport. I’m going to miss them next year and all the fun that we had together,” said Reese Weber ‘27.
