The end of an era is here for the class of 2025, the lockers are going to close for the last time while their underclassmen cry at their graduation. As the seniors walk the halls with their heads held high, they start to realize this is it, the next step is the real world.
Reflecting on the Journey:
As they navigate through their thoughts and think back to the years they had in high school, middle school, and primary school, they will come across their good and bad days. They will realize their accomplishments and the goals they have set for themselves. This last year is for the students to savor and do the most they can.
From the first day of freshman year to the challenges in sophomore and junior year, seniors end up looking back and seeing all the friendships they’ve built, the lessons they’ve learned, and the opportunities they’ve gotten. This journey is long but short, so don’t take it for granted.
The High School Sports and Clubs for the last time:
Many seniors have high school sports as a major part of their high school experience, from going to state for volleyball to helping the community with Key Club. Whether they’ve spent their whole high school years in the sport or just their senior year, the memories of playing with the team and getting advice from their coaches, seniors will keep those moments close to them forever. The final games, matches, or meetings can be very emotional, for the seniors can come to realize this could be their last time doing what they love with the people they’ve been with for years. “It’s sad but also every year you have the seniors graduating, the hardest part in leaving is leaving Mya and the girls I’ve been playing with for a long time,” said Gracie Furlong 25’ “It’s definitely sad but I’m very grateful for all the memories.”
Younger self I…
The moment seniors look back on the years, many have things for their younger selves. Looking back helps students realize the lessons and the opportunities they have had. Many seniors emphasize the importance of having fun and not wasting time because they are adults and will be in the new world in less than a year. “I was able to recognize, through hindsight, that my younger self did exactly what he should’ve. He understood his passions and pursued them. The only thing I would’ve told myself back then was to simply do more. Create more opportunities and branch out to new horizons, refine your talents, that should be the aim of anyone’s high school experience,” said Cael Ozee.
Walking Down Memory Lane:
When asked about their favorite memories many students said, getting to know their friends or going to quarter finals for football. “My favorite memories are winning a state championship for volleyball, getting my 1,000 assists, and all of the homecoming weeks,” said Abigail Merrit 25’. Some other memories students love are going to the football games or the volleyball games. explained “All the times me and my friends went to things such as sporting events” Adam Simmons 28’ said “and going to get food after school.” These are memories that these students will remember for the rest of their lives.
The Final Stop:
The last steps, tests, and laughs are not far away, they are around the corner. Senior year is a time for making memories, looking back at the past, and looking towards the future. The walk across the stage will make these young adults cry, but they are going to cry because they made it, they survived high school. Now onto the real world. Take your time and go adventure Class of 2025.
