Jon M. Chu directed Wicked. The leads are Ariana Grande (Galinda) and Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba). Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman composed the music. Fun fact: The actors were singing live, meaning they did not screen-record any of their songs before filming the movie. In my opinion, everyone should go see this movie.
Wicked first began as a Broadway musical in 2003. Now, this amazing musical is being turned into a movie. Wicked is the untold story of Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch) when they were students at Shiz University. This story goes in-depth and shows Elphaba’s relationships, how she became green, and her future becoming the Wicked Witch of the West. This backstory makes you wonder if the Wicked Witch of the West is evil or if she was just misunderstood.
The main difference between the Broadway show and the movie is the CGI and the more elaborate sets. The creators kept the same storyline as the original Broadway show.
Overall, I gave this movie a 10 out of 10. So grab your friends and get your tickets to go see this amazing movie. Fun fact about the movie Wicked:d is in two parts, and I cannot wait for the second part to come out. I will have to go to the second part of this amazing movie again.
