East Dubuque Warriors opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two walks. East Dubuque Warriors first got on the board when Owen Christ drew a walk, scoring one run.
East Dubuque Warriors extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Carver Kamentz and Bradin Lee.
East Dubuque Warriors added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when an error scored one run, and Bradin Lee doubled, scoring two runs.
Drew Koenigs began the game for Galena Varsity Pirates. The righty allowed zero hits and three runs over one inning, striking out two and walking five. Jackson Schultz appeared in relief for East Dubuque Warriors.
Bradin Lee provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led East Dubuque Warriors with four runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Owen Christ and Bradin Lee were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for East Dubuque Warriors while hitting back-to-back. East Dubuque Warriors had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Jackson Schultz and Zander Tierney led the team with two bases on balls each. Carver Kamentz stole two bases.
Zach Heller and Drew Koenigs were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Galena Varsity Pirates. Adam Simmons, Drew Koenigs, Owen Hefel, John Heller, and Drew Sullivan each collected one hit for Galena Varsity Pirates.
