The Pirates Softball team visited Pearl City on Saturday, April 12 to participate in the Pearl City Softball Tournament. They played a total of three games, and they started against the Milledgeville Missiles.
The Pirates had a very solid offensive game and had a total of 20 at-bats compared to the Missiles’ 18. The Pirates’ Kallan Kropp ‘26 had the hot bat going 1-2 at the plate. She drove in two runs and scored one herself. “It was nice to drive in 2 runners and help take the lead,” said Kropp ’26.”It felt good having a lead early so we didn’t have to play from behind.” Overall, the Pirates had three hits on the night with only three strikeouts.
Defensively, Ava Hahn ‘25 was dominant in the circle. She faced a total of 19 batters. This didn’t scare Hahn as she struck out 11 of them and walked 1. Hahn threw an impressive 70% strike rate on 86 pitches. She let up two hits, but her defense backed her up, securing the outs for their pitcher. “I felt really good about my performance,” said Hahn ‘25. “It gave me more confidence later in the game when we started hitting the ball and building a lead.” The Missles ended the night with two hits and 0 runs scored.
Overall, the Pirates won 2-0, and Hahn earned the win as they went on to play the Pearl City Wolves.
