GHS students couldn’t wait for spring break. Many people decided to get out of the cold weather and go somewhere warm for spring break. With vacations planned, teachers and students were so excited to take a week and relax. While others made the best out of being home for a week. “I was so excited for break and to have a week to relax and not have to worry about homework,” said Cameron Einsweiler ‘26.
Some students and teachers were fortunate to get out of Galena for a week and relax somewhere in the sun. Mrs. Burken was able to get away for the week and head to Florida. “It was relaxing and much-needed family time. I also was able to take a break from reality,” she said. While some people found a place to relax in the sun, some people experienced something new. “Over spring break, I went to Florida with the Laws. I left the week before spring break, so making up the school work was not the best, but the trip was fun. We took jet skis all over the place in Florida. We saw lots of sea creatures, which were amazing,” said Lydia Connor ‘27.
Many students didn’t have the opportunity to get away for a break. People tried to make the best of staying home during break. Caitlyn Soat ‘27 made the best out of being home, “I spent my time hanging out with lots of my friends and doing as many random things as possible.” Some people didn’t care where they were and were just happy for a break. Jalyn Walker ‘26 said, “ I had lots of fun on spring break; it was needed.”
After a well-deserved week away from the classroom, students and teachers have returned, ready to take on the final stretch of the school year. Whether spent traveling to new places or enjoying the comfort of home, spring break offered a much-needed pause, a chance to reconnect with hobbies, and make memories. Now, recharged and refreshed, students and teachers are ready to finish these last two months with a new sense of purpose.
