Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team on finishing 33rd in a field of 88 teams from across the US at the Small School National Champion Tournament this past weekend. In Saturday’s preliminary rounds, they went 7 and 3 and earned the right to play in the championship rounds on Sunday. Justin Lin was high scorer for the Pirates, with 42 correct tossups; Liliana Asta had 32, and captain Quin Wells had 29. The Scho-Bowlers ended their 17-straight winning season with a record of 49 wins and 27 losses, placing first in IHSA regionals, Masonic sectionals, and the NUIC conference tournament.

Congratulations to Pirate Competitor of the Week – Luna Pham Journalism Luna competed in the IHSA State Journalism competition and placed 3rd in editorial cartooning. Coach Susan Bookless said, “Luna competed against 17 students from across the state, and this was her first time competing in this event. That’s pretty remarkable. The journalism team is proud of her and her accomplishments.”
