Attention, students! Please remember to take all of your materials with you to your A3 class this afternoon. From there, you will walk with your A3 class to the GEMS gym to watch the Powder Puff football game between the juniors and the freshmen. You will be dismissed for the day from the GEMS gym.. Let’s get out there and cheer on our teams! Tomorrow and Friday, all students will go to their 4th block class for attendance and then head up to GEMS.
Reminder to all students, the pep assembly starts a 7:00 at GEMS tonight. Homecoming court and student council members, be in the GEMS entryway at 6:45.
Keep those eyes peeled and look for the G’s around the school.
Hello, Juniors and Seniors! On Thursday and Friday of this week, our Homecoming games will start right after the 3rd block. If you go to CTE on either of these days but want to stay at GHS to participate in Homecoming games, you are allowed to do so. Please see below for details. If you go to CTE and plan on attending CTE this week, you do not have to do anything. Please just get on the bus at the normal time. When the bus returns to GHS, you must go straight to the GEMS gym for Homeroom. If you go to CTE and plan to stay at GHS on Thursday and/or Friday for Homecoming events, you must sign up in the office by the end of the day on Wednesday. For the 3rd block, you must stay in the cafeteria and go to GEMS with Mrs. Hawkins at the end of 3rd Block. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Hawkins.
A big shout-out to the Galena Volleyball teams for their awesome games against Byron last night. The Varsity team swept the series, winning both games with scores of 25-14 and 27-25. The JV team also took home a win in three games, and the Freshmen team fought hard to a tie. Keep up the great work, ladies!
A4 and B4 Honors Bio Students: You may now sign up to participate in 4th-grade field day outside of Mrs. Bradbury’s room. The first 6 students to sign up will get to go!
The Homecoming dance is this Saturday, September 6th, from 7-10 pm. Tickets are $10 per person. If you are bringing a guest from outside of GHS, you’ll need a permission slip. Permission slips due today at 2:50 – ABSOLUTELY NOT LATE EXCEPTIONS!!!
Reminder: To sign out for HR release, if you qualify, the release form must be signed by a parent and returned to the office by Friday. The release may be turned in after that, but there will be a waiting period before you are allowed to take advantage of the HR release.
What an amazing showing of school spirit! It was a tough competition between our brains and our brawn, and we saw some fantastic costumes. From calculators to cleats, you all brought your A-game. After a close count, the final results are official: 1st Place: Seniors. Your senior class truly proved they’ve mastered the art of school spirit! 2nd Place: Juniors The juniors put up a valiant effort, showcasing their athletic and academic prowess. 3rd Place: Sophomores. A great job by the sophomores for their creative and spirited participation. 4th Place: Freshmen Our freshmen might be new to the game, but they’ve already shown they have what it takes to compete.
