It was an exciting night for golf at the Galena Golf Course last night. The boys’ golf team played against Pecatonica and lost with a score of 189 to 181. The medalist was Pecatonica freshman Drake Cerasa, who shot a 43, and the runner-up was Parker Larrow with a 44.
Scores for Galena were: Drew Phillips with a 45, Brant Romer with a 47, Colton Richardson with a 48, and Tyson Scharpf with a 49. The boys’ team’s conference record is now 1-3, and their overall record is 2-9.
Our JV boys’ team also had a close match, losing 190 to 182. There was a tie for medalist between our own freshman Ethan Amaya and Pecatonica’s Griffin Drake, who both shot a 43. The runner-up was Beckham Marlette with a 46. Other scores came from Landen Lange with a 50 and Liam Felderman with a 51.
Congratulations to the girls’ golf team on their win, with a final score of 210 to 224! The medalist was Pecatonica’s Micayla Peterson, who shot a 45, and our own Kallan Kropp was the runner-up with a 47. Other scores for the team were Layla DeLoach with a 52, Layla Shemehorn with a 54, and Claire Furlong with a 57. The girls’ team’s overall record is now 7-3.
The JV girls also secured a win with a final score of 212 to forfeit. The medalist was Reese Weber, who shot a 59. The runners-up were Avery Leitzinger and Eeva Kilkku, who both shot a 62. Ceilia Van Hemert, Olivia Hillard, and Sarah Perez all shot a 69.
