Congratulations to our very own Mya McCoy on being named the MaxPreps/American Volleyball Coaches Association player of the week In Illinois. Great job Mya and very well deserved!

Congratulations to the boys’ cross country team on capturing first place at the Dale Donner Meet in Bureau Valley on Saturday. Andrew Richardson placed 5th, Vinny Gullong placed 7th, Lucas Jackson placed 17th and Liam Mead who placed 30th out of 199 runners. There were 40 teams competiting. Great Job.
While Friday night’s game didn’t go our way, our Pirates football team showed heart and resilience in their matchup against Durand/Pecatonica. The Pirates are now 3-1 on the season. Looking ahead, they’ll hit the road this Friday for a big game against Forreston at 7:00 p.m.
There will be an esports meeting in Mrs. Bradbury’s room Friday during homeroom, all who are interested in playing esports tournaments are welcome to come!
Congratulations to Emma Ehrler who was named this week’s Pirate Competitor of the Week. Emma had a great week with 47 assists, 18/18 with 4 aces serving, 4 kills, 3 blocks, and 7 digs. Coach Wills said, “Emma has done an amazing job of taking over the very demanding position of setting on our team. My offense is not easy to run by any means, but Emma started the year strong and has been steadily improving every week. This was certainly on display the past week as she guided our team to 2 victories. However, to me, what may be the most impressive about Emma is her desire to come out every contest and compete at the highest level possible for her teammates. To see that in a sophomore setter is very cool! Great job Emma!”
