Lange’s teachers had many kind and admirable things to say about him and the strong presence he brings into the classroom. “I nominated Landen because in my classroom I see him as a positive, humble, focused leader. He puts his full effort in class when we are learning new things, even if he thinks it is kind of silly!” LIFE teacher Mrs. Fridecks said, “For example, we learned how to make a friendship bracelet and then students chose a person they wanted to improve their relationship with, and gave them the bracelet. New year, New start! Landen’s quiet confidence made it “ok” for his fellow classmates to “buy in” and discuss difficult relationship topics with a little bit of humor! He is a joy to have in class!”. This shows how Lange’s efforts do not go unnoticed, even if what is required of him isn’t his cup of tea. He is always displaying effort and showcases strong traits of a leader, which are valuable to classmates.
This leadership in Lange has also been observed by guidance counselor Mrs. Deppe. “Landen has really been pushing himself academically this year. It shows not only in his grades, but his ability to lead by example is off the charts” Deppe added. Landon is not intimated when it comes to a challenge and always does his best to produce his best work. He is able to similarly focus in class to maintain his stellar grades but also assist in keeping classmates on task.
Even teachers who don’t teach Lange personally are able to pick up on his positive and genuine interactions with others. English teacher Sarah Rosenthal commented, “I have never had Landen in class, but I will attest that observing him at GHS in the halls, as an athlete or at events, he is always displaying and demonstrating an authentic kindness to his peers.” This demonstrates how Lange is not only a notable athlete but also a kind and respectful individual. He treats everyone with genuine consideration and consistently shows great sportsmanship, whether on or off the field.
Outside of the classroom, Lange is involved in baseball and golf. His favorite class is L.I.F.E. with his favorite teacher Mrs. Friederick. In the future, Lange would like to pursue a career in welding. Lange embodies the values of hard work, kindness, and leadership, and we are proud to call him the recipient of this award.
