Congratulations to Mason Smith, who was named this week’s Pirate Competitor of the Week. Mason had five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown in the 26-7 win at Friday night’s game in Fulton. Coach Kyle Knight said, “Mason has had a breakout year as a receiver this year and has helped us lead the conference in passing yardage. Mason does a great job of getting open and has soft hands. He has improved his ability to break tackles and has become a much better blocker in space. He has had a great senior year and is a big part of the reason why we have qualified for the playoffs for the second straight year.”
