Comparing school and sports in Spain and U.S

SCHOOL

Which is better, the education in Spain or in the U.S.A?  It is a difficult decision for me but, If  I have to choose one, I would choose the American Education for a number of reasons.

Spain has a very good education for me. At my school the teacher wants the student to be the best in every class,  and that has some advantages and disadvantages. For example:  When a person strives in a class and he doesn’t get the grade that the teacher expects, he will not pass the year, and this is why a lot of students repeat a grade.

In a Spanish class, all the people sit individually, here you sit with a partner and this is funny because you can talk to the other person.

Another characteristic of Spanish Education is the time that you spend studying in school or at home. In Spain you will be in school for seven hours, like here, but you are going to be studying in your house for hours after school …..And Why?

One of the most important differences in education are the classes and the teachers.  There the classes are longer but  are entertaining. In Spain classes are one hour long and you finish the class tired because the classes are boring. You learn but it is boring .

Here you learn a little bit less but you don’t think that school is boring .

And  the last big differences are the teachers. Teachers in Spain are rude. When you ask you something they don’t answer you, but here you ask something and they answer you always politely.

UNIVERSITY.

The University is one aspect of education where U.S and Spain are closer .

The only difference that I found is the price of the Universities here . In the U.S a University can cost you $50,000 a year .

In Spain we have two different kind of Universities : Public and Privates .  Most of the people in Spain want to go to the public because it only cost you $1800 a year , but you have to take an exam . That exam is taken by all the Seniors in Spain and If you want to \study  a specific career  , you have to earn a good grade in that exam. If you don’t get the grade to go to public University, you have to pay to go to a private University  or choose another career.

In the U.S , you have to take the ACT exams. Then , when you graduate , you have to choose the career and University that you want to attend.

SPORTS.

The differences about sports between U.S. and Spain are many but I’m going to tell only the most relevant differences.

In Spain the only sport that we play seriously is soccer, because it is our sport, the most important sport in Spain. The rest of the sports are for the people that don’t play soccer. And here, in the U.S, all the sports are important: football, basketball, baseball .

In Spain you practice soccer every day and in my case tennis too. We practice the other sports perhaps three days a week.
