Black Friday is Right Around the Corner

Tents camped outside department stores, hundreds of people in line to be the first to get their hands on unbelievable deals. Black Friday consists of stores jam packed with of millions of bargain shoppers looking for bargain-priced  Christmas presents or items for themselves. Crazy numbers  of people run around the store to grab exactly want they want.

We hear rumors of vicious fights that break out. If the insane amount of people running around isn’t enough to add to the craziness it’s even more shocking once the crowd gets in line to check out, a line  that is wrapped around the store twice.

Black Friday used to not start until late on Thanksgiving around 11 pm or even right at  midnight  on Black Friday. The stunning deals would be at 2 in the morning, but as the years have passed the times have gotten earlier. Stores open on Thanksgiving night around 6 pm instead of 2 am like in the past. The deals still go late into the night but they just shoppers are starting on Thanksgiving evening instead of the early morning hours of Friday.

Some students at Galena High School are planning on going shopping and getting some of the  awesome deals. Jenna Muchow, a junior, says “ It’s an effective way to get all your Christmas shopping done with good sales, plus you get to hang out with friends shopping all night.”

Hannah Wubben another junior says “I love to shop but shopping on Black Friday. I would even better because everything is cheaper than normal, so I don’t have to spend as much money.”

Black Friday is a crazy tradition for some while others prefer to shop online, or just ignore the stress and have family time, because isn’t that what Thanksgiving is all about?
