The varsity boys had a makeup game against Le-Win on Saturday, February 2. The Galena Pirates put up a good fight and kept a close game in the first quarter. Starters Evan Kruse ’19 and Cody Allendorf ’19 kept the team up for the first half with a score of 10-19. “Playing a good team like that makes it extremely important to keep your head up when you’re down” says Kruse.

In the second half Jack Einsweiler ‘19 really pulled through and became a leader on the court as well, “It always sucks losing by a lot, but we used the rest of the game to work on the little things to make out game better and to prepare us for the postseason.”

His leadership didn’t go unnoticed as he won Pirate Competitor of the week. Jack gave an outstanding performance in the tough game against the Panthers this past weekend.

The next game is on Wednesday, February 6 away against West Carroll.
