Do you like gardening and working with great people? Then the GHS Plant Club might be for you! Throughout the year, the Plant Club meets twice a month and works hard to grow a variety of plants together, which they will sell and give away to local people and businesses. They also put together lots of fun events where students of the club can get together to connect and work together.
Evelyn Callahan ‘25, is the president of the club; she said, ”We would like to do pumpkin carving for Halloween and give away different flowers on holidays, like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. I would also like to do a field trip to an arboretum so members can learn about different plants and have fun!”
The Plant Club also likes to stay connected with the community by having plant sales where people can come and see the hard work the students put into growing the plants and can also purchase some for themselves. They plan on having their first sale around April or May. The Club also works with some of the local businesses downtown, where they have fundraising events.
If gardening is your thing and you want to join or if you have any questions you can email or talk to Evelyn Callahan to get started!
