Commending students for their commitment to service is how future leaders are inspired and what keeps them motivated. Key Club’s Member of the Month spotlight does exactly that for GHS students and is awarded to those who go above and beyond to exhibit their dedication to bettering the communities around them. Whether it’s stepping up when needed, taking on extra opportunities, or even just displaying valuable character, all contribute to the criteria of this award.
Koa Thew ‘28 was selected for the month of February and has done nothing but show what it means to be a true Key Club member. Despite being a new member of the club this year, Thew did not let unfamiliar territory intimidate him; instead, he used it as encouragement to really give it his all. Key Club Advisors, Mrs. Bookless and Mrs. McIntrye, have been impressed by his instant involvement. “Koa is a new member of the Key Club this year, and he’s been doing a great job participating in all the service opportunities he can,” shared Bookless. “Mrs. McIntryre and I are excited to have him as part of the club!” This instant spark and flourish is exactly what Key Club strives to meet every day, and Thew embodies just that.
