The week of Homecoming has now passed and this year was an absolute blast. This year’s homecoming was September 16 through the 21 and this year’s theme was board games. The Seniors took Candy Land, the Juniors had Clue, the Sophomores had BattleShip and the Freshmen had Monopoly. This homecoming was jam-packed. “Even while being on Student Council and having to stress about making homecoming fun for everyone, I think it was a huge success,” said student council Junior President Violet Doyle ‘26.
Homecoming is always an activity-filled week. The bigger events included Paint The Town, Hallway Decorating, Float Building, and Dance Off. In first place in big events were the freshmen, in second were sophomores, third were the juniors and last were the seniors. Jacob Loso ‘28 participated in the dance off and he had to say “I would recommend other people to participate in it next year.”
Needless to say, with homecoming comes dress-up days. The Dress Up days included Neon Out, Dress To Impress, Surfers vs Bikers, Class Colors, and School Spirit. First came the juniors, second came the freshmen, third were the seniors, and last were the sophomores. “It was the best homecoming yet,” said Sarah Rosenthal. “It felt like the most student participation since I’ve been here. The energy was at an all-time high,”
During Homeroom and all of the school Friday, there were many games that were played. Fourteen games were played, in addition to bonus points of Rowdy Crowd that were awarded to the class that was cheering for their team and also gave that respected class extra points for that day. In First place of all the games and cheering were the juniors, in second were the sophomores, and in third were the seniors, and in last were the freshmen.
Lastly, the final competition of homecoming was the hidden G’s. These G’s were hidden around the school and were for the students to find. There are three different G’s to find. The first was Mrs. Hawkins G which was worth 25 points. The second category was the G which was not your class which was worth 15 points. The third category of G’s was your own class G which was worth 10 points. In first place were the juniors, in second place were the seniors, in third place were the sophomores, and in last place were the freshmen. “I love finding Gs around the school. It gives me something to do in the morning. I found like 5 or 6,” said Jalyn Walker ‘26.
The end of homecoming was signified by the Homecoming Dance. The Homecoming dance was on September 21st. It was from 7-10 pm. “This homecoming dance was a blast,” said Braden Kevern ‘25. “The music was great and I liked how they accepted requests for music. My only critique was the time it felt super long. Otherwise, it was so much fun,” This year was a great homecoming and it was a great way for students to relax and have fun during a stressful school year.
