This year, GHS decided to start the tradition of senior parking. Talks about senior parking started last March, and it finally passed at the beginning of the school year. “I love it when students bring new ideas to me. When a group of seniors brought up the idea of senior parking, I heard them out. They brought up many great points and were very organized. After listening to them and their argument, I decided to say yes to senior parking!” said Mrs. Hawkins.
Senior parking spots often have many perks, like having a daily guaranteed parking spot and convenient locations. Many seniors love the idea of senior parking and being able to start a tradition that other classes can participate in. “It was a unique experience and I was glad our class got to enjoy it before we graduated,” said Mason Smith ‘26.
Seniors were able to choose a parking spot to decorate and keep throughout the year. “I think senior parking is really cool, and I had a lot of fun seeing everyone’s ideas and how it turned out!” said Jalyn Walker ‘26.
Many juniors don’t mind the senior parking and are excited to participate in it in the following year. “Senior parking really isn’t that bad,” said Caitlyn Soat ‘27, “Juniors still have plenty of spots to park.”
Senior parking is one more way to get seniors involved for their last year. It’s a fun way for students to express their artistic talents and showcase their interests. Students hope this can continue to be a tradition at GHS and each year students will involve themselves.
