Carlos Herrero is not your average GHS student. Is it because he just moved here? No, lots of people move here. It’s because of where he came from. Carlos is on a Rotary exchange from Madrid Spain.
Other than where he is from, Carlos is just like the rest of the fifteen year olds here, he enjoys going out with his friends and playing many many sports. Carlos is a six-sport athlete, he plays three sports here: football, basketball and track, and he plays three sports at home in Spain: tennis, rugby and soccer.Carlos said, “I love it,” referring to the sports he plays here.
Carlos enjoys listening to electronic music, he has even been to a concert of DJ Kygo. He says that he does not enjoy reading but if he could choose a genre he prefers to read fantasy books. Like any other person, Carlos has fears, such as darkness and claustrophobia.
Over the summer Carlos went to the south of Spain to a beach and then spent time at home until coming to America. He loves to travel, someday he wants to go to Thailand and Hawaii. Carlos says that he really enjoys America, he says, “It’s really fun.”
He will only be staying in America for one year before going back to Spain. He has made many friends here and says he is not yet ready to go back home to Spain. When Carlos grows older he wants to become an airplane pilot so that he can travel and see the world.
