Elisabeth Ludwig, more commonly known as Lisi, is a dual citizen of the United States and Austria. Lisi has been on about ten trips to Austria, “It is always really cool and it’s nice to experience something new, she said.
” Usually taking trips in August, she visits her her grandmother, cousins and godmother, who live in a city near Vienna, Austria.
While in Austria Lisi travels and experiences the culture of Austria. “The best thing is always the food, it is a culture shock,” said Lisi. She has also been able to travel to some other countries near Austria such as Slovakia and Germany.
The culture in Austria, Lisi pointed out, is quite different from America, “America is more laidback and friendly. Austria is more formal.”
Lisi usually travels to Austria with her family, taking about an eight hour trip with a layover, “We have had layovers in London, Sweden and Switzerland,” said Lisi. These trips in whole take about two to three weeks in which she can see family members she cannot usually see. Lisi enjoys that she is able to have these experiences she said, “I want to continue to do this the rest of my life.”
These trips have been more than just a fun for Lisi, she said, “They have made me culturally aware, I am really grateful for these trips, they make me feel like a better person.”
