Many people do not understand what FFA is. They may have heard of it or about it, but some people do not have a complete understanding as to what it actually does. As a member of FFA, Sam Hodgson explained FFA as an organization for teenagers to work on things to save money and gain job experience. In addition to this, Ms. Lynch described FFA as a youth leadership organization that incorporates all aspects of agriculture.

Sam was in Stockton’s FFA in previous years, and Ms. Lynch was in Norwayne’s FFA. Sam says that there is trap shooting, and many other events in Stockton that are not done here, but he would enjoy doing more events here as well.

In Norwayne’s FFA, Ms. Lynch really enjoyed the canned food drive they did there, and anything else that the FFA members had to offer, and she would also like to see that come to Galena..

However, there are some things that could be improved in FFA. “What you get out of FFA is based on what you put in. The more students get involved the better it will be”, says Ms. Lynch. In addition to this, Sam also believes that FFA should have a widespread numbert of events to match different people’s personalities.

People join FFA for many different reasons. Sam Hodgson joined FFA, so that he could spend more time with his friends. Ms. Lynch wanted to be involved in FFA because she was involved in showing dairy cattle, and her brother was also in FFA.

There are many ways that FFA could help people in the present or in the future. Hodgson believes that it teaches younger kids about job skills. “FFA gives students the opportunity to build lifelong skills.”

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership”, says Ms. Lynch. FFA has many opportunities that will help students now and the future. Joining FFA will improve your skills on certain things that you did not know about.
