1.) Where did you go to high school?

Big Foot High School in Walworth, Wisconsin

 

2.) What kind of activities did you participate in at your high school and what were your favorites?

FFA, Student Council, NHS, Class Officer, Volleyball, Basketball, Powerlifting, Soccer

FFA, Volleyball and Soccer were my favorites

 

3.) Where did you go to college?

UW-River Falls and finished my degree at Illinois State

 

4.) Are you and your boyfriend engaged? If so, how long have you and your fiance been engaged? Wedding date?

Engaged. Been together 6 ½ years, engaged 2 ½ years. Wedding July 1st

5.) So it’s probably a bad idea to ask you about Prom then?

A true statement.

 

6.) Is it true you used to play dress up with cows? Why? Was it this that inspired you to be an Ag Teacher?

We only dressed up heifers. My Ag Teachers inspired me to be an Ag Teacher in order to make a positive impact on the lives of students like they did for me and many others.

 

7.) Did you dress any other livestock in clothes? Why?

No, I did not raise any other livestock.

 

8.) Do you have any big plans for Valentine’s day? What are they?

We are just cooking dinner at our house.

9.) What is your favorite thing about teaching in Galena?

The support from administration, staff, parents, community members and students. Students desire to try new things, such as taking an Ag class.

 

10.) Beef or Pork? Why?

Yes! They are both amazing. But if I had to choose I would say beef.

 

11.) Are you a natural blonde or a “wanna be blonde?” If so, why did you chose blonde and not red, blue, or green?

I was blonde as a kid and my hair just gradually got darker, so now I’m a wanna be blonde. Red, Blue or Green is typically frowned upon in professional settings.

 

12.) If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

An owl. They get to fly around and carry letters for Harry Potter. They are also symbols of knowledge and wisdom – representing the advisor in FFA.

13.) What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

While showing dairy cattle as a kid, my heifer got spooked and jumped taking me down in the process in front of everyone in the show ring and came down on top of me. I was mortified that I lost control of my animal and got run over in the process.

 

14.) A Penguin walks through your door, wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?

“I’m here for the party.” He’s just here for the the good times!

 

15.) If you wouldn’t have gotten this job, what was your back-up plan?

The back-up plan was to go back to school for my master’s in Ag Education/Ag Communications

 

16.) What’s a typical Saturday night like for you?

Since we have moved back close to family, more often than not we are on the go, visiting family or them coming to visit.

 

17.) Have you ever had any run in with the law? If so, what did you do and would you do it again?

Just for speeding on the interstate. I try not to speed too bad…

 

18.) You come home to find an elephant in your kitchen, you can’t sell it or give it away. What would you do with it and why?

Keep it as a pet and house train it.
