High scoring game comes out with a tough loss

Swish! Evan kruse ‘19 goes up for basket against Eastland. The Pirates loss 78 to 66. “I love playing in the competitive games,” said Evan Kruse ‘19.

On Tuesday, January 15, the boy’s basketball team played Eastland. The game was intense and competitive. The final score was 78 to 66 with the opponents taking the victory. Senior Conner Einsweiler led the team with 21 points.

Einsweiler had a total of ten two pointers and one free throw. His offensive game helped the Pirates keep up with Eastland. Senior Evan Kruse followed Einsweiler with 13 points. Five of them were two pointers and one a three pointer. Trailing behind Kruse was freshman Ethan Hefel with 12 points. He made five out of seven attempts on his free throws, had two two pointers, and one three pointer.

Senior Tyler Moran said, “It was a good and intense game.They have strong shooters, so hopefully we can pull out the win next time.” Moran scored a total of nine points. He was five for five with his free throws and had two two pointers.

Galena fought hard against Eastland, but fell short. The next boy’s basketball game will be home against Le-Win on Friday, January 18. Come support your Pirates!
