Emma competed in the IHSA Regional Wrestling Tournament at Erie-Prophetstown this weekend. Emma went 3-2 to claim 5th Place and a berth in the Sectionals at Geneseo. The top six from each state regional advance. Coach Quincy Kalkbrenner said, “Emma placed 5th at regionals and qualified for sectionals in her first year of wrestling. She has done a phenomenal job learning from each of her matches and making adjustments. This is what helped her defeat her opponents at regionals who have more experience. She brings intensity and fight for all 3 periods. Offensively and defensively she is competing at a higher and higher level.”
