This week at the IHSA sectional competition, Emma placed first in oratorical declamation. This makes her the sectional champion, as well as the regional champion. She will compete next weekend in Peoria at the state tournament. “ Emma is one of the best public speakers I have ever had the privilege of coaching,” said Coach Susan Bookless. “When she steps in front of an audience, she comes alive in a way I cannot even describe. I cannot wait to see what happens this weekend.”
