Lady Pirates work hard to take back a tough offensive rebound while playing against Le-Win.

Starting the last week of the season the Lady Pirates were gearing up to compete against River Ridge Scales Mound and the Pearl City Wolves.  Sadly the girls lost against RRSM, but won the last game of the season against Pearl City.

“I was proud of the fact that we won the last game ending the season on a great note,” said Lizzy Eaton.

The Pirate’s goal was to win the last four games of the season, but ultimately came short by winning three of the last four games.  Despite their goal for this last four games, the overall conference record is 3/14.

“We achieved many of our team set goals which is very exciting.  Everyone worked hard in practice, open gyms, and shooting practices in order to better ourselves and our team,” said Abby Moyer.

One season goal was difficult to overcome since Makenzie Muehleip and Sami Wasmund were moved up to varsity throughout the entire season.  With this challenge it gave the Pirates a chance to push through this obstacle and improve as a team.

“The fact that we played with Sami and Mackenzie throughout middle school made it hard for the team to play without our key players,” said Alexa Haase.

For the upcoming year, the Pirate Nation is excited to see the new varsity as well as the junior varsity team.

“I was very pleased with how the team grew and became a more united team.  I am proud that I could have a part in this team’s growing process and I am extremely excited for what the future holds for this junior varsity team,” said Coach Bauer.
