On Jan. 26 the varsity boys basketball team played Potosi at home. In a close game Galena took the win 66-63.

“We came out and really played well early particularly on defense. They are really talented team and made a lot of threes to get back in that game. I’m just glad we held on for the win.” Senior Evan Kruse said.

Leading scorer Conor Einsweiler ‘19 helped put down 20 points for the Pirate win. The next top scorers were Kruse with 13 points; Cody Allendorf ‘19 and Ethan Hefel ‘22 with 11 points each.

Sophomore Sam Hesslebacher ‘21 said, “We all take a win together, we play together, and when we know what we need to do to get that done, we do it.”

The boys play next on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at River Ridge High School.
