GHS Announces Basketball Attendance Policies

We are happy to announce that recent changes to IDPH regulations will allow us to have a limited number of spectators attend upcoming GHS home basketball games.  Due to limits on available seats, passes will only be available to players and their families.  All games will continue to be streamed live on the internet for fans unable to attend in person.  Home games can be streamed live at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBPS_6elS-Jik_vRrdxPF_w

GHS Basketball Attendance Policies

  • Each player will receive 2 admission passes to each Pirate home game.  The two seats will be next to each other and it is encouraged that they be used by people in the same household.  Passes are only good for a single game – JV or Varsity.  If a player is on both the JV and varsity roster, their passes are good for both games.
  • Fans will not receive paper passes but will be asked to sign in under the player’s name at the door.  There is no admission but donations to the Pirate Athletic Program will be accepted.
  • Available seats are marked on the bleachers.  Fans must sit in the marked areas on the side opposite the benches.
  • Masks must be worn in the appropriate manner covering both nose and mouth at all times.  Individuals who do not abide by the GHS mask policy will not be allowed to remain in the building.
  • The gym will be cleared at the conclusion of each game for cleaning.  Only those with passes to the varsity game will be allowed to reenter.  All other fans must exit the building.  Please wait for athletes that need a ride home in your vehicle.  Fans cannot congregate in the foyer due to social distancing rules.
  • Concessions will not be available. There will be water for sale at the admissions table.
  • No NUIC school is allowing visiting fans this season.  Information on how to view live-streams of road games will be sent out each week in the Pirate News and posted on team social media accounts.
We are excited to offer this opportunity for families to attend our Pirate home games.  While the limitations are certainly not ideal, we hope to make the best of it, remain flexible for any future IDPH changes, and help our athletes have a great season!
Go Pirates!
