3/8 Other PCOW Nominees

7th grader Owen Hefel scored 9 points at Lena and 19 at home vs Scales mound last week. Coach Matt Schumacher added, “Owen has been our floor general and continually makes plays on offense and defense.”

Senior Corrina Noble averaged 23 points per game, including 14-29 from 3 (48.3%) in two games against Stockton last week.  On Friday night, Corrina had 33 points including ten 3 pointers, breaking the previous school record set during the 1991 season by Tracy Bauer (Travis) and tied by Sydney Schuler in 2017.  According to coach Jamie Watson, “Corrina’s offensive performance at Stockton this week was one of the more impressive games that I’ve ever seen.  She hit 10 three’s including huge shot after huge shot in the 4th quarter and all 3 of the overtimes.  Her hard work each offseason has really improved her game and it has shown this senior season.”

Sophomore Ashton Sproule is averaging 6 points per game for the JV Pirates.  Coach Kevin Knautz commented, “Ashton has played very well all season rebounding and playing defense.  He has improved his game as good as anyone on the team from a year ago.  Ashton is very coachable and wants to get better everyday at practice.. There is nothing better than seeing someone who works hard in practice have success in competition.”
