Academic Challenge Student Qualifies for State

Academic Challenge is a high school competition in which participants take a series of tests in various academic divisions. The Galena Academic Challenge team remotely competed in Sectionals March 16th.  They did a great job and placed 8th in the section. Jacob Furlong and Ian Roddick placed 5th and 6th in the mathematics category, Jacob Furlong and Ali Al-Hamdani tied for 6th in the Engineering Graphics category, and Ian Roddick and Zach Garza placed 3rd and 4th place respectively in the Computer Science category.

Due to his success in the Computer Science category, Ian Roddick will be representing Galena High School as he competes in the Computer Science division at the State Competition.  Congratulations to all of the participants and good luck at state to Ian Roddick!
