Galena Pirates sweep the night with two big wins! Taking on West Carroll, the Varsity squad racked up 10 hits to a 9–1 victory. Juniors Avery Werner and Ella Dodds, along with Freshman Kenzie Harris, each collected two hits to lead the charge. JV followed with a nail-biter, edging out a 13–12 win while also tallying 10 hits. Sophomore Makenna Berning and Freshman Ali Mann each powered in doubles to keep the offense rolling, and Freshman Olivia Stenberg came up big by winning a key pickle on the bases. Varsity is back in action today against East Dubuque.
Pirates Sweep West Carroll! It was a massive night on the diamond as both Varsity and JV Baseball brought home dominant wins from West Carroll! The Varsity Pirates cruised to a 24-5 win. Eli Studtmann led the offensive explosion with four RBIs, while Jacob Loso, Owen Hefel, and Jaycob Benson each tallied multiple hits. Loso also earned the win on the mound, striking out six.
The JV squad secured a 14-3 victory, powered by Dillon Belken, who went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and earned the win on the mound. Landen Lange and Brycen Sincock also came up big, driving in two runs each.
The Varsity Pirates look to keep the momentum going as they head to East Dubuque this Monday. Congratulations, Pirates!
